Project Overview

For Sensai, the luxury Japanese beauty brand by Kanebo, we created refined retail displays and pop-up installations that embody the brand's philosophy of Saho—the harmony of beauty and ritual. The design emphasizes clean lines, premium materials, and sophisticated lighting to showcase Sensai's high-end skincare products. Using a palette of black and white with natural illumination, we created environments that feel both luxurious and serene. Each display unit is carefully proportioned to highlight individual products while maintaining visual harmony, reflecting Japanese design principles of balance and restraint. The installations feature illuminated white counters, consultation stations, and striking 'LIFT INTO BEAUTY' branding that creates memorable retail moments.

The Challenge

Translating the Japanese concept of understated luxury into physical retail spaces within European department stores and shopping centers, while ensuring the brand stands out among competitor beauty counters and creating flexible systems that work in both permanent and pop-up locations.

Our Solution

We designed modular display units with integrated LED backlighting that illuminates products without glare. The black and white color scheme creates dramatic contrast while remaining elegant. Premium materials including illuminated acrylic, brushed finishes, and glass shelving create a sense of luxury. Pop-up installations feature full-height black walls with signature branding, creating immersive brand experiences. Dedicated consultation stations encourage customer interaction while maintaining the serene atmosphere.
